You have two things for this week’s problem set (although, it’s not really a problem set; it’s more just homework).
First, I want you to find a disease modeling paper with a flow diagram and present just the flow diagram to class on Thursday, April 24. You’ll find many of the disease modeling papers have them. The propose of this is so that you can see a diversity of host-pathogen systems (only a few are show in the text). Email me the paper by Wednesday, April 23. In class on Thursday I am planning on pulling up your flow diagrams and just want you to take 2—4 minutes describing it. What you will be describing is what the boxes are (i.e., the variables) and the arrows (e.g., rates).
Second, before Monday, April 28, I ask that yo submit a draft of sections 1 and 2 of your remodeling paper. Section 1 is the ~1-pg summary of the paper and section 2 is a short (0.5—1-pg) summary of their methods. It’s a draft, so it doesn’t have to be perfect, but it will be useful for your future selves to start structuring and writing about your paper.
